Jack Templar Monster Hunter Review and Give Away

Jack Templar Monster Hunter by Jeff Gunhus,is a story about a boy named Jack Smith aka Jack Templar. On the eve of his 14th Birthday,Jack's body goes through radical changes overnight. He then finds out that not only was he born to be a Monster Hunter, but that his Father was one as well.

Jack's side kicks Will and T-Rex among other characters make this story a great read.Although this was a book written for middle schoolers,I enjoyed the story line very much. I thought Mr. Gunhus' humor in this book was similar to another dear author, the late Douglas Adams.

Jack Templar Monster Hunter is book #1 of what will eventually be a seven book series. (Book #4 just came out October 2014.) Mr. Gunhus wrote Jack Templar as a way to get his 11 year old reluctant reader excited about reading. It worked and he's now an avid reader. He also wrote about his experience with him in a book for parents called Reaching Your Reluctant Reader. This small parenting book is available online with 100% of author proceeds benefiting Toys For Tots Literacy Program.

I can't wait to read more books from this series. I love fantasy and adventure stories. I could easily see this being made into a movie.
